The Crissman’s come to visit!!!

My mom and dad visited for a whole week. We had a great time showing off Minnesota. I hope these photos are a good recap of our week. We took them to our church, Cabelas, Mall of America, The eagle place in Wabasha, around Red wing, and mom and I saw Joyce Myer friday night in St. Paul. It was full of excitement, but we took lots of time on our deck to chat, eat, and see the deer every night. DSCN6292.JPG

Lynn took papa on the kiddie coaster. He told her the bar smashed his gut and she laughed about it the whole ride.

Here is dad telling the story about her laughing at him and she is doubled over laughing still!

The Minnesota State Fair!

We finally made it to the state fair this year. It was huge and a mad house. We were there mostly to sample some of minnesota’s famous foods on a stick. There are pork chops, pickles, corn dogs, spam (with ranch dressing for dipping…. yummy), and fried candy bars or twinkies…. all on a stick. We had to try some cheese curds. I think we got a bad batch. They were kind of chewy and rubbery. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Here are the cheese curds. Jeremy both said, yeah, it’s kind of weird.

Here is another recommended place was a place that gave a bucket of chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk. We ate enough to close the lid and took the rest home. I know, not very adventurous.

Here is Lynn with a corn dog. She loves them and the only one in the family willing to eat them. I just loved her face here. It was a little too hot.

I saw this giant peach from far away. I had to get one. Here I am ripping into it right away.

I saved the best for last. Yes………… fried fruit….ON A STICK!! Jeremy looked and said, there are just some things you should not fry and fruit is one of them. I had to show it to all of you. I hope you enjoyed seeing our pictures.

The rains came down and the floods came up…

The entire month of July was completely dry. August has brought lots of rain. This last week, Jeremy went to Promise Keepers in Cincinnati.Lynn and I stayed home and enjoyed all the rain. Actually, Lynn asked me every couple of hours where Daddy was and if she was going to get to ride in his truck when he comes home. To keep my sanity, I encouraged Lynn to play in the rain and she loved it! Jeremy had a great time, but he way home was horrible. In Wisconsin, he and the other guys on the charter bus ran into some bad weather. They ended up with a house in front of them that had slid across the road. They spent the night at a local Methodist church. The woman who owned the home was at the church. She said she work up with a tree in her bed and power lines across her face. Praise God, there is not a scratch on her! South of us is was hit badly. We had only a musty basement for a couple of days.
Minnesota has had a tough month. We now know that there are 13 found dead from the bridge falling and floods. Please pray for us so that we are lead to help in the ways that we need to while we are here.

It was my birthday this week!

DSCN6209.JPG
We went to the same place for my birthday as we did for Jeremy’s birthday. It was really nice.

Lynn was a grump the whole meal. Her and I took a picture of us giving a grumpy face. As you can see in the next entry, the grumpy attitude lasted all week.

Let’s Dish!

DSCN6211.JPG
This week, we tried a new place called, “Let’s Dish”. You get to prepare meals to throw in the freezer. Then you have meals you can cook in no time with no clean up at home. We had a good time.

We had a full house this week, but lots of fun. We had busy days and times to relax. It was nice to show others what we have found in Minnesota. We saw the Mall, eagles, parks, and the zoo.

Jumping threw hoops

Last week, I had my psychological evaluation done. It was supposed to be from 9am-12noon. I was to take a personality test and a test for seasonal affective disorder. The seasonal affective disorder was not really answering questions, but just asking me to talk about my life. Then he gave me a personality test (550 questions), an IQ test, and two parenting exams. I told my social worker and she told me she did not ask for that much and assumed he had done that because we had insurance to pay for all of this. I was there until 3pm trying to finish. Basically, Jeremy had to go in and work from 4-8, not expecting to miss the whole work day!! Thank God, it is over. Next comes getting our finger prints done at the local jail and our last home study to be scheduled.
Then……………….. we can apply for grants….. finally.
